deborah iloulian is a multi-media artist who lives and works in los angeles. the scope of her art ranges from large scale oil and acrylic paintings to figure drawings and design. in her early work, deborah was inspired by the human figure, highlighting love and passion as major themes. deborah later experimented with abstraction using unconventional mediums and tools to create different brush strokes and textures with acrylic and oil paints.
yoga and meditation have played a big part in her life and art. the various kinds of brushstrokes, white space, colors or lack of color, are to create a sense of movement and a contrary stillness.
influenced by the works of jackson pollock, gerhard richter, and pierre soulages, deborah studies and incorporates their various techniques in her work.
